Newark Wrestling Tournament

Tanner had his first wrestling tournament of the year on Sunday.
The Tournament was held in Newark.
The tournament started later than scheduled, and in turn, ran later than planned.
We didn't get home until after 7pm.

Tanner had 3 matches.
The first 2 he lost by a pin.
His first match was quick- VERY quick.
The second match lasted to the 3rd period.
He never takes a loss of any kind very well! He gets very mad at himself. Honestly - as he should!
His last match - he pinned his opponent. Hooray!

Tanner isn't sure he wants to wrestle in tournaments. We'll see how practice goes this week!

Splash Lagoon

Hello family and friends!

Bob & I have decided to go to Splash Lagoon again this year.
For those of you who don't know - Splash Lagoon is an Indoor Waterpark in Erie, PA.
www.splashlagoon.com
The kids have a ball!!

We are going March 7th - March 9th (Sunday's are much cheaper than a Friday or Saturday).
This is our mini winter vacation. I'm sure there are still rooms available if anyone is interested in going when we'll be there. Reservations aren't a bad price.

Let us know if you'll be there at the same time as us!

Sledding

The kids had Monday, Jan. 19th off from school so they spent lots of time outside sledding.
As you can see - A jump was built in the middle of the field. They had a blast jumping it!
They both use the foam sled but Tanner also enjoys riding his snowboard.
Shelby doesn't know any better and she runs up and down the hill like she's a puppy.

By morning, she can hardly walk! Silly dog!

Rock band

We were sledding for about 2 hours on Saturday. It was cold and 2 hours was plenty enough.
Nate had fallen off his sled and his mittens, boots and sock fell off. He was frozen so we decided to come in the house and warm up!
After our sledding buddies went home, Bob, Brandon, Tanner & I had dinner. Bob & I had decided to combine our chicken noodle soup recipes. Our soup was yummmmmy!
After dinner -
The boys decided to play - Rock band.....for hours!
Bob & I watched a movie while the boys were rock band players.
It was a very fun day. It felt funny not to have Rachel or Makayla with us.

Sledding party pictures

Saturday afternoon we decided to have a sledding party.
It was VERY VERY cold! We only had a few brave sledders.
Bob & Brandon came over with the snowmobile.
Rachel was in Quebec and Makayla was at a birthday party sleepover.

Our brave sledders were -
Tanner, Brandon, RJ Sturtz, Joey Mitchell, and Nate Statt.
And Bob & I of course! :-)
Jenna and Shelby were outside for alittle while with us but......Jenna thought she should follow Bob around on the snowmobile - including 3 fields out. Crazy girl!! She was so tired and had a cut up belly from the snow. After that - she had to stay inside!

Sledding

I will be having a get together Saturday afternoon at my house for sledding.
Everyone is welcome to come! Dress warm and bring a sled if you have one. I have some sleds but not alot. The foam wave type runners work the best!
If you plan on having dinner - please let me know. Thanks!

With Sympathy

John & Tracy's (Bob's Sister and brother-in-law) cat - Paws passed away on Saturday.
Paws was an older cat and had been in the family for many years.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to - John, Tracy, Emily, Andrew and Adam.

Snowmobiling at Heidi's house

Bob & Jenna came over this weekend. They arrived with an Artic Cat in tow on the Audi.
They arrived right around lunch time.
Bob had alittle lunch and then headed out for about a 3 hour ride on his sled.

After he returned home, we had a dinner.
Dinner was a new recipe that we both decided was a keeper.
We had Pecan Praline Chicken with wild rice. Yummmy!!
Sunday morning, Bob cooked us breakfast and then headed outside.
After some adjustments to the carburetor, Bob went for another long ride.
Poor Jenna didn't know what to do. She sat at the window and looked for Bob and cried every time she heard a funny noise.
After Bob got back, he took me for a ride. We rode for about 25 minutes. It was a nice ride.
We rode some trails not far from my house. The trails were rough but it was still fun!

It was another great weekend for both of us!

Snowmobile riding

On Thursday, January 1st -
Bob & I went over to his parents house and rode snowmobiles.
Bob rode his sled and I rode his Dad's sled.
We had alot of fun. I haven't ridin a snowmobile in about 7 years.
I forgot how much fun it can be!

After our ride, Bob, & I ,with his parents, went to dinner in Macedon at Micelli's.
Yummy food, great company....what more could you ask for?

Overall it was a very good day!

six-word memoirs

I just heard of this fun project that has been going on for YEARS!!
It's called ~ Six-word Memoirs.
Can you describe your relationship, life, love, ect... in six words?
(Below is the description of the book.)
Here is my thought......
I think we need to do this little fun project!
I'll add mine to the blog soon.

Have fun!

About The Book

Not Quite What I was Planning: Six Word Memoirs from Writers Famous and Obscure collects almost 1,000 six-word memoirs, including additions from many celebrities including Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris, Dave Eggers, Richard Ford, Deepak Chopra, Moby, and more. A New York Times bestseller and subject of hundreds of stories from The New Yorker to NPR and hailed as "American haiku," SMITH's book of six-word memoirs is both a moving peek at the minutia of humanity and the most inspirational toilet reading you'll ever find.
